Reading online, downloads and offline reading
How the reader works, how many downloads you have, and reading without internet.
Every book you own opens in the online reader with chapters, search, bookmarks and your reading position.
- Downloads: each bought book can be downloaded a limited number of times (usually five). The number left is shown on the book in your library. Download links are valid for a few minutes.
- Offline reading: on the book's page in your library, choose Save for offline reading. The book is stored in this browser on this device, so you can read it without internet (for example on a journey). It stays available for a limited time (the ministry sets how long); go online once to renew it. When you sign out, saved books are removed from the browser.
- Watermark: the reader shows your name; this protects the authors' work.
- Free books: always read online on any device and can be saved for offline reading. Some can be downloaded; for others choose Ask to download and our team replies with a notification.
